Kacie C. MS, OTR/L

I grew up in Washington Township, NJ. I received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Women’s Studies from Towson University in 2018. For two years following graduation I worked in an elementary school as a special education classroom aide. It was there that I began to learn about occupational therapy and the importance of a holistic mindset when working with a child. My passion grew and I decided to pursue a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Widener University, graduating 2023. During my time in graduate school, I became interested in working in pediatrics, taking a job with an all-inclusive sports and fitness program for children and adults. My capstone research project focused on implementing an occupational and speech therapy based life skills program in a school for adolescents with various abilities. I was able to see first hand how occupational therapy can impact students more than just handwriting and fine motor. Following graduation, I began working in Camden County School districts and worked with children of all abilities to help them become successful in their role as a student.

Utilizing a therapeutic use of self, I will work with you and your child on self-regulation, fine motor skills, sensory processing, social participation, and ADL independence. I am passionate about creating a safe and positive environment so your child can thrive and begin to understand themselves better. Not only is your child my client, but you, as a caregiver, are also my client. I ensure that there is an open line of communication so that skills are able to be carried over and utilized within the home and community environments.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with my family, going to spin classes, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with friends. I am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and enjoy reading new evidence based literature to stay up to date on current practices.
