Growing up, I always knew I wanted to have a job where I could help people. After shadowing a family friend who is a speech language pathologist, I knew it was the career for me!
I attended La Salle University in Philadelphia where I was accepted into their 5 year BS/MS program and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (and a psychology minor!) and my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. Through my time in graduate school, I had the opportunity to explore a variety of settings working with children as young as 2 and adults as old as 78! I found I greatly enjoyed working with the pediatric population and especially working in public schools and in an outpatient setting.
I strive to make speech therapy a welcoming place where children are free to try new things, work towards their goals, and have fun while doing it! I especially have interest in working with children who may be preverbal or non-speaking and are using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) modalities. I also love to use play-based and child-led therapy strategies to further develop communication and make coming to speech therapy an enjoyable time.
When I’m not working, I enjoy listening to music and going to concerts and Broadway shows, reading a good book or completing a puzzle, and spending time with my friends and family over a good meal or a fun game night. I hold my Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCCs) and am a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
I look forward to working with you and your child to help them achieve their speech and language goals!
